Early works for the first stages of development on the Eastern side of Springacre Road are now underway!

Our initial stages of Precinct 1 will deliver 169 new lots, creating an exciting opportunity for families, first home buyer and downsizers to secure their place in one of the Redlands Coast’s most eagerly anticipated new communities.

This marks the beginning of approximately 450 new homes in Precinct 1, providing housing for around 1,400 residents over the next four years. All here in one of Southeast Queensland’s most vibrant coastal regions.

The Southern Thornlands development responds to the critical need to unlock the supply of housing diversity in the idyllic and rapidly flourishing Redlands Coast region.

In its entirety, the developed PDA is forecast to deliver 8,000 new homes, as well as new employment areas which will support economic growth. Q: What development is underway now?

The vision for Southern Thornlands is coming to life, with early works commencing in Precinct 1 – comprised of up to 450 new homes and a lively mixed-use centre. These works will prepare land for release along Springacre Road. Road improvements at the Springacre Road and Boundary Road intersection are also underway to support the growing community and enhance local connectivity.

Q: How will additional demand on local infrastructure, such as roads, the sewer network, public transport, and utilities, be managed?

Southern Thornlands has been planned alongside significant infrastructure investment to complement the needs of a growing community. Upgrades to roads, utilities, public transport and community facilities will be delivered alongside a diverse range of housing. Urbex will continue to work closely with local and state authorities to ensure both new and existing residents are well supported as the community grows.

Q: How will the development impact the local environment and community, and how will you protect it?

We are dedicated to preserving environmental, ecological and cultural values throughout the development period and beyond.

All works within Precinct 1 are undertaken in accordance with rigorous environmental assessments and approvals. A range of management measures are also in place to minimise impacts during construction, including controls related to soil and land management, waste and recycling, water quality, air quality and pest management.

Q: Will there be fauna and flora protection throughout the development?

Qualified fauna spotters always conduct a site inspection prior to any clearing works.

Qualified fauna spotters have been and will continue to be on site daily throughout the land clearing period. They are trained to identify koalas, sugar gliders and other wildlife for safe relocation.

Critical vegetation will also be identified and marked prior to clearing, with retained vegetation identified and delineated to prevent damage.
