New land to hit the Darwin property market: The Heights, Durack
Urbex, a national developer, known for its innovative approach to urban development, is spearheading this endeavour with a masterplan designed to deliver unparalleled opportunities to the local community.
‘The Heights’ in Durack plans to feature over 400 residential lots across seven stages upon completion and marks Urbex’s third residential community project in the Territory since 2010, following the successful joint ventures with the NT Government at Johnston Ridge and Zuccoli Village in Palmerston. The Heights adjoins the existing 350 residential lots previously completed in Durack between 2012 – 2017.
Urbex General Manager, Peter Sherrie, highlighted Urbex’s commitment to delivering a master plan that integrates seamlessly with the existing residential development, addressing the key requirements of the market.
“As expected from Urbex, we prioritise open space, landscaped parklands, and playgrounds throughout the development. This commitment fosters a sense of place and strengthens social community connections,” Sherrie said.
Urbex NT Project Director, Kassi Picken, added: “The Heights will offer a diversity of lot sizes to suit different demographics and the changing needs of modern-day individuals and families. It will feature a housing design that truly reflects the essence of traditional Territory modern tropical living, incorporating character and charm to resonate with our local community.
“We are dedicated to retaining existing urban and environmental aesthetics of the site only enhanced by key urban design principles, environmental and landscape benefits.”
The Heights is conveniently located just off Roystonea Avenue, placing residents minutes away from local retail, dining, entertainment, education facilities and numerous recreational and leisure activities. Being just 16km from Darwin city, it offers easy access for work or leisure, making it an ideal location for individuals, couples, and families alike.
The first phase of civil construction will focus on significant infrastructure development, laying the groundwork to seamlessly blend residential living with recreational community hubs.
