Paula’s Downsizing Journey: Life at Dunes, Harbour Beach

For Paula, a move to The Dunes was the perfect opportunity to downsize from her previous home in Townsville and enjoy some serious beachside living.

“I drove out here once when I was visiting and knew immediately that this was where I wanted to live,” she says.

“I’ve always loved the beach and couldn’t think of a better spot to spend my days, so I bought one of the smaller blocks at Dunes and got started building straight away. Now I wake up to the sound of crashing waves every morning and can’t get enough of the salty sea breeze.”

Paula says the compact layout of her new three-bedroom home was a perfect fit for herself and her Japanese Spitz, Bo, and suited her downsizing needs perfectly.

“The house provides just the right amount of space, and the location is perfect for me as I am able to spend more time with my kids and grandkids who live in Mackay.”

“I absolutely love the low maintenance backyard in my new home at Dunes. It’s the perfect space for my plants. Not only does it add a touch of greenery to my surroundings, but it also serves as a peaceful sanctuary where I can unwind and reconnect with nature.”

“Living in Dunes has been fantastic because of its easy access to the beach. That was a crucial factor in my decision to downsize. After my husband passed away, I wasn’t sure about making the move from Townsville to Mackay. While my kids and grandkids were here, all my friends were in Townsville, and I didn’t want to leave them,” Paula explained.

By all accounts, Paula says her move to Dunes in Harbour Beach has been a resounding success.

“By transitioning to a smaller, more manageable home, I’ve been able to embrace a simpler lifestyle and spend my time enjoying nature. I can’t wait for this wonderful community to grow and to connect with others who want that same feeling.”
